We will discuss a variational approach to the rigidity of positive mass theorem for asymptotically hyperbolic manifolds. It relies on some new development of static manifolds and uniqueness. If time permits, we will also discuss other mass inequalities. The talk is based on a joint work with Daniel Martin and Hyun Chul Jang.
